Hello

My name is Mikaela and I am the newest member of At Play OT. I am originally from the Arizona desert and I graduated from ASU with an undergraduate degree and dual teaching certificate in elementary education and special education. I then moved to San Diego to pursue a doctorate in occupational therapy at the University of Saint Augustine University, graduation class of 2023. My capstone project was a phenomenological mixed methods study manuscript discussing the lived experiences of disabled athletes who are competing for an university-affiliated adaptive track and field team.

 

As a therapist I have pediatric experience delivering services in a charter school, outpatient clinic, and in the home. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where each child can thrive. My approach emphasizes building self-confidence, developing essential skills, and fostering independence. Together we can work towards creating a brighter future for your child.
